Mental Toughness
This area plays an important role in tying the other pieces
together. Mental conditioning can mean mind/body integration and the imprinting of
muscle movements and coordination into your brain and central nervous system (such as in
shooting a basketball free throw with your eyes closed). Mental training can also
address the psychological effects of concentration, focus and
visualization. Controlling negative thinking and practicing positive affirmations can
play a key role in how you feel, act, and ultimately live.
